my car keeps reving for no reason, ive been told that i need a new catalytic converter would this put an end it this.

When i had the same problem, it turned out to be a frayed accelerator cable . . . just a thought

Nowt to do with the CC, throttle cable needs adjustment./replacement.

Possible fault with the throttle position sensor or airflow sensor.
