Wrong mix of petrol...
I have just been told that petrol stations, mainly in south east & predominately supermarket petrol stations, have had the wrong mix of petrol, causing the ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT to come on in some cars. Hi-lighted in PEUGEOTS, but could obviously be other makes.
For time being, I was told to use SHELL OPTIMAX or BP ULTIMATE.
Anyone heard anything ??

Its probably the knock sensor in the engine management system. It is possible that the petrol sold in some places is closer to the minimum 95 Octane figure for standard unleaded, which could cause a sensor to trigger more often. Looked at it the other way, some companies maybe along themselves a greater margin by enhancing the Octane figure a bit.
