driving a car without tax mot

just bought a second hand car without mot or tax.
ive recently had my licence revoked and am waiting to sit my practical. so im back with my provisional.
i need to get the car to my mothers house and onto her drive to declare it offroad to be a able to do the necasary work to pass mot.
if i had a compitant person who is over 21 with more than 3 years driving exsperience and fully insured on there own vehicle supervising me would it be safe and legal to do so? PLEASE HELP!

The only legal way to get it there is to get it transported on the back of a breakdown truck. You must know that is would be wrong to do it any other way. However, good luck with getting back on the road, I hope you have learned from whatever mistakes you made to lose your license.

If it was just a matter of no tax, you could have tried to persuade a local garage proprietor to drive it for you (for a fee, of course). Most garages have 'trade plates' which act as a form of transferable tax disk, so that they can move untaxed vehicles around.

However, nobody is allowed to drive a vehicle without an MoT (unless, of course, it's not old enough to require one), on a public road, for any other purpose than taking it to or from a pre-booked MoT test.

As Shero101 states, the only legal way to move the car is to have it conveyed on a transporter.

why not join the aa or rac, then ask them to transport it to wherever you want. it's probably cheaper than asking a garage.
