I want to wire my foglights up to a seperate switch in my 106 GTI, they are only accessable with your full main beams when you twist the lever on the steering column. Does anyone know the easiest way to rewire them to a seperate switch, ive searched the net etc but cant find anything that could help and i dont want to just do it without some kind of guide etc.

Maybe that is because your foglamps are only supposed to be used in poor visibility - and so you should have your headlights on in poor visibility anyway. Using your foglamps in any other circumstances is illegal and annoying to everyone else.
I hope that you are not one of these sad people who thinks that everyone is impressed by somebody driving around with their foglamps on - If that is not the case I apologise now, but I can not think of any circumstances where you would want foglamps on but not your headlamps
yep,hes one of the sad people who drive with them on,lets hope he gets stopped and fined

oh my god , calm down people , of course if u say so im one of those sad people! i want to put lower powerful bulbs in their to have on simultanious for a car show and some pictures im having taken , but thanks for the reply.
If its just for a show - why not take out the headlight bulbs (not legal on the road of course) - have the pictures taken - then replace the headlight bulbs afterwards.
Sorry that I thought that you were one of these sad sacks who drive with their foglamps on all the time - I misread the clue in the title 106GTi
BTW rewiring with a different switch seems rather drastic just to have a few photos taken.
