hi my names stacey, im just after a bit of advice, im 18 years old and am looking for a car to buy at the moment, the thing is i want to find some car insurance quotes before i actually buy the car so i no i can afford it, it is my first car so im pretty new to all this stuff all the websites iv been on have asked me what car iv got bla bla how long iv had the vehicle when im get to buy it anyone no of good websites that can help me thankyou
Not sure of any websites but you need to be looking at the insurance group of the cars you are interested in. Smaller cars such as corsas, Saxo's etc are cheaper than your bigger cars to insure.
1) Have a look at what type of cars you fancy at your local car supermarket and draw a shortlist.
2)Have a look through something like Auto Express or What car and look at the cheaper car insurance groups for the cars you have shortlisted.
3) Enquire online at your insuirance co and apply with the different car models etc and see what comes out better for you.
Find out what insurance group any of your perceived cars will be, the lowest being the cheapest (1 a Fiat Panda to 20 a Rolls Royce etc) As almc says get a shortlist.
If the car is the same insurance group and roughly the same price all the quotes will be the same, near as damn it.
At your age and experience you will be firmly spanked by any company. If you give me your price range (for the car) I am sure I and others can advise you what they would opt for.
You will get around 30 different quotes from all different insurers. Say you want the insurance within one month, it,s OK you are only asking for quotes, no obligation to buy.
For up to a 1000 I would opt for a small Fiesta. Fiats are not the most reliable car in the world and if it goes wrong cheap parts are a bummer to find. Whereas if you opt fpor a Ford, you will get everything much cheaper.
Also a one litre Fiesta will be either insurance group 1 or 2, so should be cheap to to insure.
