Ban buses

I think there was a recent report that said London buses are inefficient, and slow down the progress of those who work to boost the economy. Is this right?

Wasn't a report by the Taxi drivers association was it?
Or a report by the people who want to sell more and more cars?

It seems unlikely to be correct. If you count the number of people on a London bus (about 50?), you can then work how much road space would be required by them if they were all in cars, with separation distances before and after each one. And then multiply the result by the number of buses in London.

I dont have anything against buses, however my route to work now takes 10 minutes longer due to the local council filling in the bus stop laybys and make the bus load/unload in the road.
This causes my longer journey time and with all the cars sat waiting more polution for the poor people who live on the road.
And even where there are laybys they stop with there rear end sticking out into traffic. They do it so that they have a lane to get into when they are ready and it does not matter that in rush hour traffic perhaps 30 or 40 cars could have passed.
