Anti Flash Reg Plates

Hi

I was just reading a thread about these, do they work and if not surely you would get into more trouble for using them???

I'm not thinking of buying any, I'm just curious....

Don't forget some cameras are infra red, and the mobile ones do not flash..
So you need some better form of 'protection', best to fit a set of Polish plates:)

Using 'anti-flash' plates is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001. The maximum fine is �1000. Additionally, any vehicle with such plates should be failed by MoT testers.

It's pointless anyway. Many motoring journalists (including the 'Top Gear' team) have investigated the various methods which are said to fool speed cameras. None have been shown to work.

i have used the spray on about 5 vehicles and i have no intention of testing whether it works or not, but it is all too easy given some circumstances to go over the limit by a small amount only to be flashed by a camera. i do not condone speeding above the permitted limit but i think that motorists are a damn good moneymaker for the government. the way that they work is by a coverage of crystals that supposedly reflect a flash. the mot stations do not fail a vehicle with plates treated with it.
