Does anyone know what my car will be valued at? I want to sell it to get a 4 door. Its a BMW 323i coupe ,1996 P reg, 2.5 ,dark blue , sun roof electric windows, multi cd player, 110000 miles ,9 months mot, no tax. The engine makes a bit of a noise when its reved over 3000 my mechanic said something about the shells( this was noticed 3 months ago), but i`ve no idea what this is. apart from that its running great

my Parkers price guide doesn't show P reg, but the R/S reg is �3315 private sale or �2870 trade in.
When the noise appears, can you feel a 'rumble' through the pedals? The 'shells' are the housings the engine bearings run in for the crankshaft. If these are worn the engine may need a partial strip and re-build, knocking a couple of hundred off the value :-(

that engine should be good for twice that mileage without needing shells, get a second opinion. if thats been running for 3 months like that i would think its not shells. does the oil light ever come on at idle

No as I say it`s running great apart from that noise. No lights etc.
