tour wheels may need be balanced

cheers i take it you mean my four wheels as i don't know what tour wheels are.will this affect my fuel also
Hi cheles,

Incorrect tyre pressures will certainly affect the fuel consumption.

:o)
he means "your" wheels, I think

Too high a tyre pressure wil make you steering light -

Wheel balamce will NOT affect your fuel consupmtion.

As I don't know what year an R reg. is -( they dont use them over here ) I will guess that it is pre 2002 in which case the front pressure should be 28psi for a standard 155/13 tyre./
As for the excess fuel consumption - when was the air filter changed last ? or indeed the car serviced - if it is still high and the air filter has been changed get it high consupmtion checked out by a mechanic - usual consumption for a 1.2 -1.4 is around 38 -42 mpg.
Alternatively use a lighter right foot on the accelerator.
