Is it possible to re-register a truck(tractor unit)and drive it on a car license and how is this done.Rumour is you remove the fifth wheel.Thankyou.

I've heard this rumour in relation to brand new, unregistered tractor units that have not got the fifth wheel.

I think that is just a rumour, if the tractor unit weighs under 7.5 tons I think it can be driven on a car licence as long as you do not hitch up the trailer.

That depends on when the driver passed the driving test, surely?

If you passed the test after 1996, you can only drive up to 3.5 ton on an ordinary car licence.
