i am having problems getting the car into 1st and 2nd gear is there a linkage or has it come out of line or do i need a new box

the gear linkages may need adjusting -if its not them I would hazard a guess its a gearbox problem.

Both my daughters have 03 registered Corsa's and both had similar problems and needed the gear linkage replaced.It is a common fault with Corsas. Expect to pay �150 top �180 depending on the garage you choose to do the work

definetely the gear linkage. i am a mechanic and i had to fit one to my car. plastic bushes wear away. you have 2 options you can either replace the full linkage (vauxhall only part) at which to buy at trade price is �89 plus vat (dont know the retail price prob another 30 40 quid. or you can buy an overhaul kit (again vauxhall only) at 40 quid plus vat. it is quicker to fit the full linkage so would prob save on lab time compared to overhaul kit. this is a notoriously common fault with these cars.
