Just look to see if anything is embedded in it, otherwise take the wheel off and submerge it in a vat of water.

Before doing that spit onto your finger and rub it onto the valve opening. If it bubbles it's a leaking valve. A trip to the tyre for a replacement valve. Less than 5 minutes and not very expensive.
Meant to read "a trip to the tyre dealer"
get and old spray bottle. mix a little dish soap and water solution then just spray the tire down. look for bubbles, spray the valve stem around the base and the end as previously stated.
Is it an alloy wheel? I have had no end of problems with tyres on my alloys. Apparently it is harder to seal them and slow leaks occur.

If it is a recently fitted tyre you could go back to the person who fitted it and get them to do it again using their magic sealant gunge.
