rover 214 leaking

when it rains hard i get a pool of water in my back passenger side footwell the water seems to come in round the door seal though there is no obvious damage to the seal. my car is normally parked on a sloop pointing upwards also half on the kerb. any body else experienced this

It could be the seal inside the door behind the internal trim, if this has been removed and not resealed properly water gets down the outside of the window (as the rubber strip is only a dust seal) and then runs down the inside of the door and into the foot well. The plastic sheet is supposed to divert it back into the bottom of the door where the drain holes let it out again.
check the sunroof well isnt blocked as it will overflow down into the car. (a common problem)

of course there maybe a hole in the floor of the car
My Mondeo had a similar problem.
I traced it to a disconnected line between the rear window washer and the water bottle.
Every time it rained and I used the rear washer, Water appeared in the rear foot well.
Give the rear washer a good run (On a dry day), and see if the trouble occurs.
