Contaminated petrol: non-supermarket brands
Apologies for coming to this topic somewhat late, but I don't do a lot of mileage... I have just been hit by an enormous garage bill for two replacement sensors and a replacement cat for my Zafira, all caused by silicon-contaminated petrol. I have not used supermarket petrol since buying this car. Have any ABers out there been stung by bad non-supermarket fuel, and if so, which and where? The problem is that I am unsure which of two possible petrol purchases was the bad one (two different brands, but both in Sussex). OFT have advised me how to claim, but they said I must address my claim to the petrol station which sold me the bad fuel.
