Hi, I have a 1.2 16v 2003 Corsa, and I am having difficultly in selecting 1st and 2nd gear, have been told about a common gearbox linkage problem, so does anyone know if this is a common fault or if it is an easy fix or do i have to brave a dealer?
Thanks in Advance...

It is a very common problem. If you are a competent mechanic you could replace the plastic joints or replace the whole linkage.

If not competent I would suggest you get your garage to do it.

This has happened to the Corsas my daughters own. Vauxhall garage charged about 150 to replace the linkage
If you do the job yourself ( it is a very simple job, about an hour maybe ) do some shopping around for the part, the price varies massively !
the part is dealer only. it is easier to fit the linkage and less time consuming but cheaper and more time consuming to fit the bush repair kit. i had to fit a linkage to mine it is a notoriously common fault on this car.
Part is about 40 from a site called www.lmfvauxhall.co.uk Make sure you get the uprated metal one. Shouldn't take too long. Get yourself onto the forums at www.corsa-c.co.uk theres loads of info on there and people are always willing to help
