dashboard warning light?

I have an M Reg peugeot 405. A red warning light comes on it looks like a saucepan lid with squiggly lines underneath.
Dont know what it is can anyone help please?

I reckon it's the engine coolant level indicator.
Have you not got the owners manual, it will tell in there what all the warning lights are.
Check your coolant level, if it's a little bit low top it up with coolant and keep an eye on it.
If it's really low you could have a water leak somewhere or the engine is using coolant (possibly a head gasket problem).
If the coolant level is right, it could be the coolant warning level switch is faulty.
You're best bet is to take the car to a reputable garage who will advise you what the problem is, don't drive the car with low coolant, you could do serious damage to the engine if you overheat.
