when the camshafts dive chain breaks when the engine is running does it do any damage to engine

I've not had any experience of one of these chains breaking, and Autodata doesn't mention if it's an interference engine like they do for timing belts, but I would imagine there's a very high probability there would be some valve or even piston damage.
