Nervous driver
16 Answers
When you are driving do you ever deliberately not park in a car park space if you think you might have trouble getting out of it when you go back to your car? (like me today ), do you get anxious when someone drives close behind you?, do you hate driving on motorways? i do all of these things, how are your driving skills? :)))))))) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

and she didnt like her new car cos it made her fall asleep

i can appreciate that your anxious. lost my licsence 2 wice doesnt make me a good driver.
I would hope that you are a calm person, you just have to look ahead, not only in driving but life too...........think of your life as well as you would taking a car or motorcycle out, there is always something around the corner..........

It must be awful to be anxious, but I bet you're not as bad as you may think you are nursecarla!
To be honest, driving & parking has never bothered me.
I passed my test on 16 June 1972 & the very next day, drove our (then) two little girls from South Beds to Essex, via the M1 & Nth Circular. They sat quielty in the back drawing, oblivious to the fact that I'd never driven on the motorway before!
I've actually watched people trying to manoeuvre out of wide parking spaces & still managed to nudge bumpers! One woman was nearly in tears in the hospital car park, so I very discreetly asked her if she needed any help. She said she'd been trying for 5 minutes & was so grateful to me for getting her out of a tight spot - pardon the pun!
Anyway, I needed her parking space! ;o}

I have been driving for thirty-five years now, and i do genuinely think I am a good driver.
I am always mindful of my 'escape route' when I park, and I try to make sure, within reason, that I can extricte my care fairly easily. I avoid multi-storey car parks when ever possible.
I don't bother if someone drives closely behind me.
I don;t mind motorway driving, but I find the huge volume of traffic a strain, and the apparent inability of people to either aniticipate even a few seconds ahead, or remember that overtaking is done on the right makes it more nerve-wracking than it needs to be.

I stopped driving for those reasons carla. It was a combination of things at the time (husband being ill, uni work, being made homeless, young child etc) I was driving at the time to Leeds a lot for uni and to take my husband to and from hospital and I became so anxious that I started to take the train instead, so a 40 min car journey became a 2 hour train journey at rush hour everyday (so prob wasn't a smart move lol) I became that nervous and anxious that I started to refuse to drive even to the supermarket and now haven't for about 3 years and I doubt I ever will again.
The worst part is I was a very good driver (my husband says so, so I must have been lol)
I always suggest to my husband parking out of the way ever since we came out of Morrisons and discovered a couple with their trolley leaned up against OUR car because there was a slight slope!!! God my husband was fuming and all the woman could say was "where am I supposed to lean my trolley to get my shopping out?" to which my husband replied "Against your own bloody car!"

It would always make me laugh seeing a woman trying to park her tiny little car in a huge gap, after trying and giving up I would then park my Range Rover in the same gap!! lol
I am a very confident driver, if someone drives too close to my rear end I just slow down to about 15 miles an hour especially if there is no where for them to overtake, they soon get the message!!
