I have knocked into my wifes car with my own car, I insure both cars but my wifes car is fully comp but mine only TPFT, am I insured to claim on my TPFT policy for my wifes car or do I need to claim on my fully comp policy

You don't need to claim at all - if the damage is minor it may be cheaper in the long run to pay for the repairs yourself.

If you claim on your wife's fully comp policy, the insurer will recover the monies from the party at fault - your third party insurance.

the damage is quite bad its definately a job for the insurance people but who do i report it to my fully comp policy or my TPFT policy, i realise the only car that is covered is my wifes car but i'm unsure if you can actually claim off yourself !! if that makes sense
Put it through the fully comp insurance. At least telephone them and discuss it.
