I have an Auto rover 820si. Over the past few days it has started to run at high temperature even into the red but will drop to 3/4. I have added water. Today it has started to be a little more difficult to start and has also started to cut out at junctions. Anyone have a clue what could be wrong. There are no lights on the display informing me of a problem.

the temperature thing could be to do with a faulty engagement of the engine fan????? I had a car that used to overheat in low gears cos of this....the fan was supposed to engage when it was on 50 but it never kicked in until it was way in the red.....i used to put the heaters in the car on and open all the windows (it was the only thing that brought it down)
