My hubby is taking his driving test again on Saturday, he has failed quite a few times because his nerves get the better of him, he is a good driver but just turns to jelly when the examiner gets in the car. any ideas to calm him down, he will not go for hypnotherapy. As the test gets closer it even affects his sleep making him tired too. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Yup, I've used Bach Rescue Remedy before an interview for a job that I really wanted. It was absolutely fantastic, tastes vile but killed all of my butterflies stone dead.
it took me 5 times as well and i was so nervous each time that i was getting so annoyefd with my self, the last time someone recommended a mars and a can of coke because of all the sugar sounds daft now but i was desperate at the time so i did, i also took the kalms the day before and didnt know that they had to be taken for like a week before they work so it must of all been in the head! Anyway that time i passed and if im grateful for 1 thing is that hopefully i will never have to take my test again!
Hi all, just went and armed myself with Kalms and Bachs, I guess its ok to have both, I am gonna try them out on him when he gets home from work incase of any adverse effects, once again thanks everyone for all your help, restores faith in human nature xxx
i never got nerves on my test passed first time .why should any one get nerves ? just think so what if i fail i can do it again , good luck to him any way let us all know he gets on
I am a retired driving instructor and can fully sympathise with your hubby. The more you take the test and fail the more likely you are to go on failing...just because you "think you will fail again"...you do. It's down to attitude really..he must tell himself that it really does'nt matter if he fails the test...nobody is going to shoot him for it..and he can always go back and take it again. If he fails again this time I would ask the doctor to prescribe him beta blockers a week or two before his test. This medication stops that horrible stomach churning feeling and so enables you to perform to the best of your ability. I once had an excellent pupil who had to resort to this and she was absolutely fine. Good luck to him...I'm sure he'll do it this time.
Take care what medication he takes before driving. Try it out on a lesson before his test.
During the test if he starts an adverse reaction to any medication the examiner is quite within his rights to terminate the test if he considers your husband is "unwell"
Sorry, just read your posting again. His test was today. Hope he was successful. Please let us know.
