my xm 2.5 td estate loses water in an awkward spot. bottom r/h side of rad area, viewed from front, hard to tell if its the rad or hoses in that area.and it just drips when warmed up.(20 miles or more) put into a garage and their view is its the rad, 135 plus 50 labour. i asked at a place that sold genuine citroen spares for another quote and they said 400 parts&labour for a rad change. any advice? is the high price a **** take or is the low one fair or does it sound ropey, bear in mind its a big old motor and everything seems high when near a garage.
many thanks

Just checked with the online company I used to supply a rad for my wife's car recently, I searched around and they were about the cheapest and delivered the next day. They quote about 136 so the lower quote seems to be reasonable.
The difference will be in the price of the rad: the second place sound as if they are charging for one in a Citroen bag, the first place are charging for a non 'genuine' replacement........but don't worry, it'll be from the same factory as the 'genuine' rad.....

Eurocarparts charge between 100 and 130 plus vat for an XM rad, depending on which XM it is, so the first garage sounds like its quoting a fair price based on getting the rad in at trade from Eurocarparts or GSF or similar........as indeed does the second one if they are using a 'genuine' Citroen radiator.

There are two radiatord on the 2. 5 mounted pigy back it is advisable to change both at the same time as believe me they can be a bit of a pig ,easiest way is take the front of the car off , GSF price is 200 for both , Northern radiators 175 for both i am in the process of changing mine
