On I put my car into my local garage for it's yearly MOT. Got a phone call in the afternoon saying it had failed and that they would look at it first thing Tuesday and phone me and let me know what was wrong and how much it would cost.
They phoned me late Tuesday afternoon to say the car was fixed and that the cost was 420.
I didn't give my consent to the repairs. Quite frankly the car isn't worth it.
If you didn't authorise the repairs they shouldn't have done them, you're entitled to your car back, if they haven't got time to take off the parts they fitted, that's their hard luck.
To sddsddean.
There could be a valid reason for them not knowing why it had failed.
It could have failed the brake test and it's not always obvious what is causing the problem. The same goes for the emissions test, the failure could be caused by several reasons.
yes rojam you are right it was the emissons it failed on. anyway I paid the bill which finally came in at 452.35. but I won't be going back to that garage.
thanks everyone I wish I was brave enough to take your advice.
