Hi guys, ive a problem with my MGF, everytime i turn the engine off i cant start it again without jump leads. Ive been told it cant be the alternator as it starts fine when its jumped. The fan belt is squealing when it doesstart up could this have anything to with the loss of power? Does ne1 have ne ideas to save me a fortune?

It can be the alternator as the battery is not been charged or is faulty.

The fan belt, (accesory belt) is squealing as it probably needs renewing or adjusting, if it is loose it's not driving the alternator properly.
hi itr sounds like u have cell down on the battery
or poss low water level
if you can remove the cover on top of the battery cells when first try to start the car get some one to watch and see if any fizz up if they do you need a new battery
the water level should be above the top of the cells
