Peugeot 407 FAP filter
Hi, after a bit of advice from members, I have 407 hdi 110 54 plate with 67000 miles. Out of manufacturers warranty. I have a warning light explaining that my particulate filter needs regeneration and to check handbook. The advice given informs me that I must drive at a speed of 40 plus for approx 10mins to clear this warning. However after countless efforts the warning remains in place. I have been told by Peugeot that it will probably mean a fap filter replacement and fluids.. Has anyone had this job undertaken and advice re how much this could cost.. Is it usual for a filter like this to go after 67000 miles. I am still driving the vehicle after a week, however I am aware that it could go into power save mode at any time.. Any advice welcome thanks

I'm not sure how many miles it takes before it has to do this? if its not that many it may just be a top up thats needed.
thanks for you answer sspeedguy, I took the vehicle to Peugeot Warrington who informed me that the FAP filter does need either regeneration or replacement at 65000 miles. Mine could not be regenerated and they replaced it, 500. I made contact with Perrys at Blackburn and explained that this should have been mentioned when I purchased it. They told me they could not help me. I then contacted Peugeot UK and complained, only to be greeted by the most incompitent customer services manager you could ever encounter. He kept stating he would contact me and would then disappear home at 4pm every day, when I tried to complain about him to the MD all of my emails were rerouted to him LOL. The moral to the story is firstly stay away from Peugeots, secondly dont buy a car from Perrys Blackburn; and dont contact Peugeot UK customer services, all three are a waste of time and money Cheers

broken2 x tyre sensors replaced for £243.42 had to have new wheel lock nuts..they had to drill the old ones off another design fault? cost me £22.98 and half and hour labour extra grand total including 10% off standard labour rate £640! West Bromwich
Dealer. I have had a 307 before this car and had all the same dash errors and have spent £££s so this is my last car from peugeot and wish I never took out finance with Arnold Clark which is another horror story as they will have the car off you and tell you it has to go to main dealer for diags time and time again. 27-02-10
