Vauxhall Corsa - engine rattle

My Corsa (54plate) has developed a rattle in the engine which I usually here when in neutral, it does seem quite loud (I can hear it over the radio) the dealership says it happens to all corsa's of this age ... I'm not convinced, has anyone had any similar experiences?

Hi, certain Corsa engines are very noisy, especially the three cylinder 1.0 ltr, which is atrocious what size is your engine?

Is that right? That's outrageous! Bet they didn't mention it when they sold it to you.

yes its 3 cylinder 1.0ltr took it back to the dealership and they said the same as u

I believe they have a timing chain rather than a belt and it is probably this thats making the noise. (may be caused by the tensioner).That engine is poorly designed and has loads of faults so problem could be one of many things, however timing chain is the biggest culprit.
