Can a car be parked, not driven, on the road if the MOT certificate has run out?

Thanks Ethel, I thought, as the car wasn't moving anywhere, it would be okay to park on the road.

Not that the MOT has run out, it was just a rhetorical question!
the car has to have a insurance,tax and mot to be on the road,even parked up.

Thanks Norman, I knew of course about the tax and insurance but wasn't sure about the MOT.
