does my car need fog lights for an MOT

as far as i know there isnt one connected or a light on the rear. there is a switch on the dash but seems to have no purpose.

I think that if there is a switch for them they must be working.
a car must have a rear fog lamp mounted at either the centre or drivers side of the car, passenger rear foglamp only will not pass an mot. front fog lights however are not part of the mot.

I thought that if something was fitted it had to work for the MOT?
If your vehicle was first used on or after 1st April 1980 it MUST have one rear fog lamp.

thanks everyone! fog light being fitted as i type!!
i think this is the case for local taxi tests pippa but not for the mot
