Just to give a update on what my local garage was going to charge me for work on my car (there quote over 1000 pounds ) parts on ebay from dealer outlet 90 pound , adviced on omega forum not a bad job to do about 2-3 hours work , just makes you wonder why main car dealers charge so much Gypsy x

see if a mobile mechanic would be willing to do the job if you supply the spares.

Main dealers prey on people's insecurity.

They play all sorts of tricks like imply that you can only get a good job through them or that you'll invalidate your warrenty if you don't have your servicing done by a main dealer.

As I recall when BMW first introduced the little light that came on saying your car needed servicing it could only be reset by a main dealer.


I had a friend who was so under their spell he even bought tyres from them! Utter madness

Find a good garage - preferably by personal recommendation and stay away from main dealers.

I think you know that now!
