tdi is diesel.not sure on vw sdi
I thought both were diesel but the TDi was turbo direct injection whilst SDi was standard direct injection
sdi is for sequential diesel injection. used to work on private cabs which have this engine in the skoda octavia. tdi is turbo diesel injection. both really good engines particularly the sdi for reliability. have seen properly serviced ones do between 200 and 250 thousand miles.
do not buy an sdi i have had a few vw s golfs passats etc the sdi are dead no power in them buy a tdi by far a better car
