My son has a Audi when he tried to start up its catching and then cutting out and on the dash board its showing a orange light and a key can anyone help

The reader for the microchip in the key (the keyreader) is faulty and not detecting a true reading of the key try your spare if you have one otherwise have the ecu plugged in with someone who has the software i.e auto electrician or audi.

Hi Donna the key worked like you said the only thing now is the ABS light stays on (hes tried break fluid) also a red light with a exclamation mark comes on when he drives off can any one help? thanks

red light with exclamation usually means hand brake light
