How do you tell what size of engine is in a car? It doesn't say on the boot so I'm stumped.

No such thing as bmw 725I and some 318i are 1.9 litre other 2.0litre,Germa cars very bad in this confusion
You could measure it with a tape measure.
Some cars have the engine size stamped onto the head. On some cars you can't see it but on others you can but if you're mechanically minded you can tell by the size of the block itself.
some 318s have a 2 litre also. dont know of any bmw 1.9 litre engine though??
I'm still giggling at Toureman's answer..... (sorry styley but it was funny)
