My problem is, my wife has just retired...has her own car and I have mine. I am also retired so we dont need two cars.

I have been driving since October 2004 after having been disqualified for 18 months due to being over the limit for driving while being over the limit.

Bottom line is, I just want to be the spouse on the insurance policy. The wife is with esure just now and I dont think I fit in to their criteria. Can anyone suggest an insurance company, who will not exploit my situation, as I still have full no claims because my 18 month ban and didnt exceed the criteria. Because no accident was involved I retained my ncb.

Any advice on the varios topics would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

How about she being named driver on your policy?

If you want to sell the wife's car and keep yours, you can change the ownership with DVLA so your wife is the registered keeper.
Is there an insurance broker in your town?

This is just the sort of task for them.
