cabriolet hood repair

i have just bought a stolen/recovered escort mk4 cabriolet.the hood is perfect apart from a cut about 9 inches long where the thieves gained entry.is there any form of invisible repair i can carry out? i have a donor car with a perfect hood,but it seems a shame to bin an otherwise perfect hood.
