peugeot 206 cd muti cd changer not working?

have a cd changer in boot of car ( 2000) reg w, no power
it searches for cd but nothing else happens, there is no front on cd unsure if there should be one as controls are on dashboard but unable to switch it on
anyone have any ideas?
