is it ok to park on double yellow lines , with no additonal signs, on an industrial estate. there are no signs to say it is private property or parking is prohibited. The council have told me it is not a public highway.

It is obviously private property - you don't need signs to tell you that.

You could come back to find your car disappeared- you are trespassing if you have no proper reason to be there.

I work on the industrial estate and on the opposite side of the road there are no parking & loading only signs - so I would not park there.
Ethel is quite right, there,
obviously the double lines wern't put there for no reason, and maybe the Police are not interested at all,
But I woul be inclined to find out if the manager, or whatever, of the industrial estate has employed a private wheel clamping firm, in order to deter people from parking on streets that need to be kept clear for delivery and collection vevicles,
some body must know something about the reason for them being there,
pete.
