I have recently had a small accident in my car, when not paying enough attention at a roundabout. Because there is no question as to who is at fault (me), I want to protect my unprotected no claims bonus by not going through my insurance company. However, I know that this is propbably the safest way of getting this sorted out. I did hear a while ago though that you can claim on your insurance, and then, in effect, buy back your no claims bonus by paying back the insurace company the value of the claim. I just wondered if anyonme knew if there was any truth in this or if anyone had any suggestions as to what I should do about this? - There is really no point in claimning on my insurance and losing my no claims bonus, as it will end up costing me a lot more in the long run! - I only currently have two years' no claims anyway, so would lose the lot!
It all depends on if they make a personal injurie claim which they can do upto three years after, depending on how badly damage there car is you could ask them to get an estimate and pay for it!
