A couple of weeks ago we spent a lovely week in Lincolnshire (e-coast) But the roads!!! Can somebody explain to me why the roads are all full of 90 degree corners. We're surprised the clutch didn't pack in.
large parts of Lincs were recovered from the water-filled fens. The fens were enclosed by dykes which ran in straight lines. The enclosed water filled areas were then drained to create fertile land.
The roads were built along the dyke lines, hence sharp bends when they b=needed to change direction.
