I have been on a website to get a valuation on my 2001 Y reg, 126k 2.0DTi Zaffy. THey have offered a price of 1470 and arranged an appointment for tomorrow at a used car dealership in Leeds. I take my car there, they look at it and then if they are happy, complete the transaction (and possibly offer more if they think it' s worth it). They have stated that I bring the V5, proofs of id and then sign the car over to them. They will give a receipt of sale and transfer the money into my account in 3 to 4 days.
Has anybody had dealings with this type of sale as it seems a little iffy to me that I give someone, who I don't know, my car with documentation and them only get paid a few days later. Any suggestions?
darbo dont hand over your car and documents unless they are going to pay you for it in cash. there are to many scams going about so if i was you i wouldnt take any risks.
Tonyav, I'm of the same opinion, unless you pay, you don't get. I wonder if they would let me take one of their cars and pay them the money in a few days. I think not!! I thought it would be too good to be true. Thanks for that
DONT DO IT !!!!!
your car for a bit of paper !?!?!
i tell you what ill do, ill give you a piece of paper with 2000 wrote on it. would you hand your car and documents to me PLEASE !
Ok, Ok, that's enough, I surrender!!!! I promise I won't go to this place and give my car to them. Thanks for all your replies, it's been a great help in me making my decision. Best regards to you all.
