Hi - I may have to replace the heater control on my Ford Fiesta - apparently it's a 15 minute job... ...but... ...do I have to drain the coolant before doing the job? Haynes manual says yes - but repair hints on the net don't mention draining. So - do I or don't I?
To add to Norms answer, make sure you do this with a COLD ENGINE. Haynes do not tell you that you will be scalded if repairs to the valve are done on a hot engine.
Hi just replaced on this morning. It didn't require the system to be drained but make sure you do it when engine is cold as some water does come out. Took about 15minutes in all.
