I have been using Tom Tom Home 2 to update my TOM Tom.Up to today No problems.Suddenly the programme won't open due to my comp saying DATA PROTECTION EXECUTION has stopped this programme from opening.The only way I managed to get it to work was to download the programme again.It must have been an upgraded programme but it worked.I hope this will help you out there.Vista suggested all sorts of things to do but it didn't work.

Dear hughes 66 I recently borrowed a tomtom satnav, and to my horror the next day it refused to do anything. (not even a breath of life). after a while i spotted a reset facility on the bottom of the satnav. you will have to look carefully for this as it is very small. I had to use a toothpick to press the reset button as it is in a very small hole. (don't snap the toothpick).
Thankfully when I tried to switch it back on the satnav came back to life.

Thanks for you comment.I am aware of the reset button but the problem I was describing was about the Tom Tom computer programme not opening The Tom Tom was fine .Downloading the programme again seemed to solve my problem.
