I am sorry to say he will get an immediate ban - 6 points and a fine too I think.

Lucky he didn't kill anyone. Hope he doesnt do it again.
Probably a fine of about 1 weeks take home pay and either a short ban (of up to 56 days) or 6 penalty points.

this is a sight for community chat and response- people DO and should pass opinion!!!! The poster was right - nothing justifies doing 66 in a 30. He would have been better doing 30 as this will cost him - and it sounds like he will do it again if you justify it this time. You won't get any sympathy here so don't stick up for him!
lulu - why on earth are you using text speak on a forum? Surely you have a keyboard.

And, no, I wouldn't drive at twice the speed limit in an emergency. I might need my car for another emergency and can't afford to be banned from driving.

From experience - 60 fine and 3 points.
Your experience must be imaginary, FRISKA.

The fixed penalty you mention will not be offered for speeds above 50mph in a 30mph limit.
He should have gone to specsavers
I cannot help myself retaliating to these stupid questions about what do I get if I speed. Why don't you or in this case b/f think about this before speeding you all seem to do the worrying afterwards. You don't think of the accident you could cause innocent people with your stupidity.I hope they throw the book at him.

thanks for your help
You don't need help it is commonsense and abide by the speed limits.
Oh for goodness sake, the yoghurt knitters are out again. I haven't been on here for ages as I was fed up with all the high & mighty comments.

AnswerBank should be for answers only not opinions so those wanting to share their stifled views on here - go and share them with somebody who asks for them.

I'd like to bet that if you were face to face with this person, the converstaion might be a little different.

Anyway, my colleague was up for a similar offence and did receive 6 points and a fine. She was banned for a short period but told me that was due to the totting up rather than the offence itself.

Good luck and don't listen to those other idiots on this site, they just spend their days passing judgement on people.

Really, go and have a look at other questions relating to speeding, you'll find all the same people, turning out all the same phrases.

They have to have something to make them feel worthwhile.
Good grief it looks as if you agree with what lulus b/f has done. Don't come on shouting the high and mighty. Why do people come on here to see what they will get .They should no full well what will happen but I will say it again they didnt think of that when they were speeding. If you break the speed limit you deserve to get all you get and think themselves lucky no one was injured.
Godd answer compost, I agree.
