MOT running out

My MOT runs out tomorrow but I can't have it tested til Saturday. I know I can drive it to the test with no problem but I'm wondering will I be able to drive it tomorrow without commiting an offence???

No - you can only drive a car without an MOT to a prebooked MOT test

If you have a valid reason you can get an exemption certificate which will allow you to drive past the date that your MOT runs out
I had to get this a few years back

If it says it expires on the 20/11/08, you can drive up to midnight on that date, so you can drive on the 20th.

chazza - do you reside in NI perchance. I may be wrong but I am not aware of drivers in GB being able to offer a 'valid' reason and thus receive an MOT exemption certificate, especially when you have 28 days before expiry to renew. However I do recall special measures being taken several years ago in NI due to industrial action...

you are fine, if your mot runs out tomorrow, then that is the last day you can drive it!

Sorry I misunderstood your question - when you said that your MOT runs out tomorrow - I thought that your MOT would have run out tomorrow - you can drive up to midnight on the date on the MOT certificate
