would it make any difference to safety and handling if l had 175-65-14 tyres on the back of my car and 175-70-14`s on the front...... thanks

A good example of different tyre sizes can be seen in drag racing.
It won't make any difference to the handling. A difference of 5% in the aspect ratio of a tyre is negligible.
As for drag cars, they are not renowned for their handling as they only run in a straight line but that is not because of the tyres.
just a thought, remember what s specified fo rth ecar by the maker, if you deviate , insurance company may be interested
