I received an Advisory notice with my recent MOT certificate for my 5 year old Ford KA.
The advisory items are:

Nearside and offside Mcpherson struts have slight movement at the upper attachment.

Slight play in front rollbar bushes.

I'm wondering how urgent this work is and what would be the rough cost?

if the movement is slight i would suggest not very urgent, it will start knocking over bumps etc when the wear becomes excessive
both quite cheap minor repairs, they may go through the next MOT but if not it shouldnt cost too much to sort out

Great. Many thanks!
I had the same thing with my KA. First one side in one year, then the other side the next.
It cost about 175-200 each time.

It is a common thing with KA's, bad news is that once it happens once, it means yor car is more susceptible to it, and it will reoccur. It was about 2 years between the first one and having to have the same side done again.

Oh, not so good. the garage said that the wear often happens due to frequent driving over road humps - which there are in my locality.
basically a rubber mounting at the top of each strut, 20 odd quid each from ford, common fault on the ka and fiesta im afraid, however they are SUPPOSED to have slight play but obviously not excessive. easy fix
