I feel good this afternoon.I've just made my 26th blood donation. As I have a rare blood type it is specifically used for new born children. Soon the blood of Sgt. Rock will be helping to save the life of newly borns.

Admirable sir.
I cant give any more as I was living abroad and they wont let me.
I am O Negative blood group and that is always in high demand as it can be given to anyone (no matter what their particular blood group is) in an emergency.I always wanted to be able to donate blood but unfortunately I am not allowed because I am on medication-and also you have to be over a particular weight and i'm quite underweight.
That is really good of you!!

Full marks!
Hey daffy you can have some of my weight for free, call it a Xmas pressie. x
yup - top guy.
It must make you feel pretty good to know you're helping?
Question Author
Daffy - I think you must be over 7 st 12ozs to donate. I don't have a problem making that!!
Are you the person who killed a 8 foot tall polar bear with his bare hands and push started a 55 ton tank
Question Author
It was actually a 9 foot grizzly and sixty tons.
Scary. I have just made my 26th donation too. But I only have "common blood". Well done.
Sounds like a bloody good idea to me, but sorry to sound smug, but am up to 68 donations. I am now on the platelet donor panel, so this is why I am up to such a high figure.

Yes, I donate my bodily fluids for free!

I was told years ago that I could not donate blood because I had yellow jaundice as a child - I don't think this holds true for today though does it?

Well done Jonny, you are a lot older than me though, I'll do my best to catch you up. Must look at the platelets thing myself.

Well done Sgt .Rock !!!
Question Author
salla - I was talking to a man in the queue today who had jaundice as a child. It did bar him from donating until about 3 years ago but the rules have changed and it's OK to donate now.

Just a bit of one no.know? I can live with that.
Nah - it's fairly common in newborns. My son had it too - he had to go under a sunlamp before they would discharge him.
We always refer to it as 'yellow jaundice' round here - maybe cos of the Lincolnshire Yellowbelly thing - maybe that's where the expression came from - maybe it's uncommonly common in Lincolnshire?
