Wrong speeding code

I was caught by a speed camera the offence was an sp10, exceeding goods vehicle speed limit. When my licence was returned to me the offence was recorded as an sp40 exceeding passenger vehicle speed limit. As i do not have a licence for a passenger vehicle can I challenge this ?

Why does everyone assume I dont have a licence ? An sp40 is Exceeding the speed limit for Passenger service vehicles i.e. buses. The question is how can I be prosecuted for this offence when I could not be driving that class of vehicle as I have an HGV not a PSV

FFS, rojash. He doesn't have a licence for a PASSENGER CARRYING VEHICLE. He has a licence to drive a HEAVY GOODS VEHICLE. Sheeesh, it's not rocket science.

well now thats cleared up, you should write and tell them you were speeding in a goods vehicle and not a passenger carrying vehicle.

Theyll put it right and youll have the correct code.
