As said a diagnostic check should have been done before you spent the money on the service, was the right HT leads replaced? Plugs? Filter etc, have you had a new cam belt fitted? if so was it timed right? It may have slipped a tooth, Something tells me you have a carb problem! are you yourself capable of stripping and replacing the carb?
Hi as Chas said, your best bet would likely to be a tech 2 machine, which will give you a print out of how the whole system is working. I had a Saab v6 recently which actually is essentially the same engine ( they use a vauxhall block) and there were a number of things at fault when I tech 2'd it, and none of them were cheap, however a tech 2 test should cost you about 40 so you know where you're going from there, as ' poking and hoping' on such a complex engine will only frustrate you and cost you a fortune on things ' it might be'.
tonyav unfortunately theres a lot of folk on this website who know ***** all about cars but guess anyway to make everybody else think that they do!! anyone whos ever worked in the motor trade would know that carburettors more or less havent been fitted to cars since 1992/1993 when good old Maggie stipulated that cars had to have catalytic convertors therefore most cars had to be fuel injected to meet the emissions criteria for that time.
Hi Chedd, Well some folk get excited when we make mistakes!! you know what I mean, Regards the Injectors they are not a big job to do & you can get refurbished Injectors they take yours in part x then do the same again, going off the year of your car that is no big deal regards mileage providing the belts, filters, Fuel filters are changed on a regular basis it should do the clock twice, It is cheaper doing that than replacing the car, at least you know the car & it's history good luck with it, & Again very very very very sorry LOL Trebor.
