If you are clamped, is there any reason that you cannot remove your car by other means with the clamp still on?

For private clamps;
You are not allowed to damage the clamp - criminal damage. Or deprive the owners of the clamp - Theft.
But the lock can be picked and the clamp returned or handed in to lost proerty at a police station.
For Police and DVLA clamps it is an offence to remove them.
I heard of someone who removed wheel clamps with bolt cutters.
