Peugeot 206 - Servicing Costs
Hi,
I have a Peugeot 206, 53 Reg, and it is due a major service. The Peugeot Garage has quoted 295 for a full service. I think this is far too expensive.
My question is, if I took my car my local garage (i.e. not a registered Peugeot dealer), would they be just as good. Do you think it would be cheeky to ask them to replace the air filter, oil filter etc, with Peugeot parts?
Thank you for any help given.

Is it a petrol or a diesel? If its a diesel the fuel filter is an absolute sod to change and takes a while. most independent garages tend to use gen peugeot parts (mine does) as apparently they are not expensive in the trade. The other thing with diesels is they need regular oil changes, my mpg used to improve dramatically after it was serviced. The other thing to do is shop around for prices, in my experience the indpendents are as good as if not better than the dealers.
